Of course there is always DSG, Field and Stream, plus many other local/on-line stores to deal with. I would be sorry to see GM go out of business since BPS is already working on buying Cabela's. Many serious bass fisherman buy things made by other companies and mostly use on-line or local purchase power. I know one drawback to BPS is that they stock a lot of their brand and little of other brands. I also do my research on-line for things like new fishing rods and then order them through a local tackle store, Anglers Express, to help keep them here. I, like many, do some shopping on-line with Monster, Tackle Warehouse and others. I think most of the brick and mortar retail tackle stores have seen a decrease in their sales over the years since the Internet. Like my Lowrance Elite 5 HDI for around $250. I have purchased some deals from them on-line, electronics. The GM stores also seem to be a little higher priced on most tackle than other stores. I used to go to Greentop once a year in the Spring to load up for the tournament Season. That building is now occupied by a long-tern, local fishing tackle/hunting retailer, Greentop. They had opened a store in Richmond suburb of Ashland and it didn't make it. Most of my trips to GM stores were weekdays so there was probably a bit less traffic. I have not seen GM stores as busy as the rest on any trip. I have been to Gander Mountain stores in PA, MD and VA. Did a search and didn't see this mentioned here. I actually borrowed this link from another forum that I frequent.
